the history of YWAM lakeside

In 1974, Youth with a Mission Montana was birthed in the city of Bozeman, however, after four years it closed down. Ten years later God started to move in the hearts of several men and women in Kalispell to start seeking God regarding another YWAM work in Montana.

In June 1985, the Lakeside Air Force Base was scheduled for public auction. On June 6th, 1985, God gave YWAM its current location in Lakeside. On July 6th, 1985, the first full-time staff members moved onto the base and began extensive repairs. In September of 1985, the first Discipleship Training School (DTS) was run. There were 47 students, 26 children and 17 staff!

We are currently running 14 different programs, and as of April 2004, we have run 121 schools. We have seen over 2,414 people trained and sent out into short-term missions, we have 131 full-time staff and have sent 312 outreach teams to 82 nations.
