So, what is “DTS Equip” anyway?
Here are the details… DTS Equip is a 6 week, full-time seminar, focused on developing the leader-who-disciples. It is an accredited University of the Nations course, and also accredited with both Crown College (MN) and Northwestern College (MN).
We aim to provide a resource-rich environment where leaders & staff are equipped in character, skills and Spirit, so that students and programs worldwide may benefit and develop according to their individual and corporate callings.
Our goal? To Equip you to Equip others. Heck, just change the world!
Heres what that means...
DTS Equip is designed to develop the individual in several ways: as a leader, a developer, and just as importantly as a disciple. If you want to be someone who can influence generations as well as individuals, you need to be an effective discipler and leader. To do that you need to be an earnest disciple and follower first. Beginning with re-laying a foundation of personal discipleship, DTS Equip will help you develop as a holistic long-term leader and developer by adding essential perspective, leadership, and discipling skills.
Who comes to it?
It is called “DTS” Equip because most of the application discussion incorporates the DTS environment; probably the greatest environment to learn both discipleship and leadership skills, from the one on one to the classroom to leading and being responsible for training a high number of staff. However, the topics discussed in DTS Equip can benefit anyone called to Christian ministry and leadership in any capacity. Therefore, DTS Equip is not only for DTS staff; it is open to people from other ministries and schools as well.
Almost all of the content of DTS Equip is easily applied to any leadership and/or discipleship scenario. We regularly have participants from outside of DTS, and even outside of YWAM. It will help you in your work as an individual as well as being part of a team. In fact we have had leadership and staff teams come through it together for just that purpose.
People from a wide range of experience levels have attended. Program Directors, base leaders, school leaders, experienced and non-experienced. This is not a next-step kind of school. It’s not a DTS-repeat for people not knowing what to do next. It is leadership development. Come as a disciple or a leader; leave as a disciple who knows how to disciple and lead others.
If you have a calling to disciple, and to lead, then DTS Equip is a necessary part of your journey.

It seems like multiplication is the next step for DTS Equip, and we want to offer the program for those wanting to see DTS Equip planted within their region. We have been receiving invitations to come and run the program at various locations and regions. But, we would rather help equip other leaders and trainers to do this themselves.
The most effective way to run a school and train others is to have a leadership consisting of workers from that region. Our goal is… to develop leaders and disciplers, who can in turn effectively develop others to develop others (yes, that’s correct!). These trainers know their region, their people and how to communicate accordingly. If they are the ones to plant it, it will more likely become an ongoing resource. Getting the necessary info' and skills to the front lines and helping regions to develop their own leaders, staff and students in the process is our goal.
The "Multiplier" DTS Equip is specifically for those people who see this need and want some training in order to do that. In the form of DTS Equip our hope is to give them a model for a leadership development package, ready to go.
If they want to see a DTS Equip at their location, or something like it, this is the one to come to.
Who?
The DTS Equip Multiplier It is not for first-time staff or leaders*. The participants should already have an element of "eldership", or recognition in the area of development and/or DTS. They would be people such as yourselves, or individuals that you know are recognized trainers, able to be recommended to pioneer and lead a DTS Equip program in their region. A team of varying experience working together would be highly recommended, and welcome to attend together.
(*unless they already have a recognized history of development and training, and are beginning to lead DTS's in order to train DTS staff and increase the effectiveness of DTS in their region).
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
Applications for Canadian citizens should be completed no later than 1 month prior to the start of the school. For all other international applicants, completed applications should be received 4 months prior to the start of the school (Africans at least 6 months.) You must have a passport that is still valid up to six months after completion of the school. Each family member coming must have their own passport, including each child.
Prerequisites
Completion of the Discipleship Training School and Field Assignment (DSP 211,212 ) or Crossroads Discipleship Training School (IDS 703/704).
Accreditation Six (6) semester equivalent credits will be earned upon successful completion of DTS Equip (DSP 141). These credits may be applied to a U of N degree program or transferred to other participating colleges or universities.
